Offered here is a very rare milk bottle in the quart size with "Donker's Sunshine Dairy Ridgecrest Calif." pyroglazed in red. The back of the bottle has "Use Sunshine Dairy Products For Your Health". According to Tom Chapman's 2003 book "Bottles of Eastern California, Donker's Sunshine Dairy operated from 1941-1945 and was located on East Bowman Road (near the new Wal Mart in south Ridgecrest) on the Bowman Ranch site. The dairy originally started in Atolia in 1933, but closed and relocated in Ridgecrest in 1941 due to the population growth in the Indian Wells Valley

Pictured here is an orange pyro gallon war slogan milk bottle from BOWMAN DAIRY...CHICAGO ILLINOIS. The back side features a "BUDDY BOWMAN" character holding a war bond with the caption...KEEP YOUR WAR BOND AND YOU'LL NEVER GO BROKE. The front says BOWMAN DAIRY COMPANY...THE MILK OF SUPERIOR FLAVOR. The bottle has the original metal carrying handle still with the bottle. This war slogan design was unique to this dairy as it utilized their famous BUDDY BOWMAN character into the design. The bottle has about a 1" chip on the top edge (refer to photo), does not appear to be cracked. If you have any questions or need additional photos, please don't hesitate to ask.
