This was part of a test by Borden's in 1957 to see if a red milk bottle would do well with consumers. Needless to say, the test didn't go well. Who wants to look at red milk! There were only a few test bottles made and there are only about a dozen known to exist. This particular bottle was purchased by my dad on ebay years and years ago and he paid $3500.00 for it. I don't know if he put the labels on it or if the seller did, though my dad was a bit of a label nut. I will leave them on and let the buyer decide whether or not to remove them. I have not seen any chips or cracks though there are small bubbles throughout and a few small dots of color loss. This piece has been displayed in non-smoking homes. This rare gem is a quart sized Baptiste Dairy Milk Bottle from Koloa, Kauai.
