eBay RARE 1946 HAM FARM DAIRY HALF-PINTMILK BOTTLE - WYTHEVILLE, VIRGINIA Available for purchase is a VERY RARE milk bottle from the Ham Farm Dairy in Wytheville, Virginia, circa 1946. The front side is embossed "HALF PINT LIQUID - HAM FARM DAIRY STORE 5¢ BOTTLE - WYTHEVILLE VA." The front heel is marked "REGISTERED" and the reverse side of the heel is embossed "SEALED BB-48 MLX-493". The underside of the base is marked with the Owens-Illinois Glass Company logo with a date code of "46" (1946) and the plant code "18" (Columbus, Ohio). The "BB-48" mark is a Berney-Bond Glass Company mold mark, a company acquired by Owens-Illinois in 1930. The bottle stands about 5 1/2" tall and 2 3/8" wide. I purchased this milk bottle at a recent estate sale in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Embossed milk bottles from this dairy appear to be very scarce, especially in the half-pint size. I've only been able to find one other example that sold in 2012 for $467.89. I haven't been able to locate much information about this dairy. Based on the design of other milk bottles I've seen sold online, it was likely active during the 1940s and 1950s, possibly into the 1960s.Condition of this collectible milk bottle is EXCELLENT with no chips, cracks, or fleabites. The glass is clear with no cloudiness. This scarce milk bottle is about as nice as you could ever expect to find. It would make a fine addition to any milk bottle collection. VERY RARE PURDUE UNIVERSITY CREAMERY MILK BOTTLE - ONE QUART - LAFAYETTE, INDIANAThis rare, clear glass one quart milk bottle is a must have for anyone associated with Purdue University, West Lafayette, or Lafayette, Indiana, or dairy farming. The bottle measures approximately 8.5" tall and is 3" x 3" square. The overall condition is very good, there are no chips or cracks in the glass, just general handling "scuffs". The Purdue University Creamery logo is very legible. The bottom of the bottle is embossed with Lafayette, Indiana, S 48. This nearly 75-year-old bottle will make a great gift! History of the Purdue University Creamery: From the mid-1910s until 1969, Purdue faculty, staff, students, and visitors had the chance to stop by the Purdue University Creamery on campus, where they could purchase fresh ice cream and milk. The creamery was housed in Smith Hall after a gift of $50,000 from William C. Smith, a farmer from Williamsport, Indiana, to fund a building dedicated to instructing students on the principles of modern dairying. Smith Hall was completed in 1913, and the creamery store was located on the ground floor toward the south end of the building. The main east-west hallway that housed the creamery store now houses classrooms and offices of the Department of Entomology During the 1932–33 school year, the creamery processed more than 121,000 pounds of butter, 20,000 pounds of cheese, 6,300 gallons of sweet cream, almost 28,000 gallons of buttermilk, 60,500 gallons of milk, and more than 7,600 gallons of Purdue Creamery ice cream, according to the Agricultural Experiment Station annual report.Photo: Purdue Agricultural ConnectionsIn a 1940 report on food purchased and served for campus use, university president Edward C. NICE VINTAGE CRESCENT DAIRY RENO NEVADA NV MILK CREAM CAN. I can't even find a picture of another anywhere on the web or in museum websites. The metal work and soldering make me believe it is a very early can. It has embossed lettering as seen in the photos. If your looking at this can you may know the history of this dairy and h ow collectible its items are. The owner John H. Chism was the proprietor of the Chism Dairy from 1900 to 1912, and Crescent Dairy from 1912 to sometime in the 1950's. By 1904, John H. Chism had the largest number of milk cows in the state of Nevada and was considered Nevada's leading dairyman. There should be lots of these but they have vanished from the face of the earth. Here is your chance to have the best collection in the state. It is a 3 gallon can there are no holes in the can. It stands approximately 19" high. The lid is currently in place and I didn't want to risk damaging it if it did not need to be removed. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

This is a rare 3¢ Store Bottle from White Villa dairy in Dayton, Ohio. It was a Golden Guernsey dairy farm. It says America's Table Milk and has the jug logo. It is a quart bottle dated 1952. Bottom is embossed 3 cents. Super cool bottle. In excellent used condition for its age. It does have a slight pinkish tint i couldnt get to show up in pictures. Its most noticeable near the base. The top graphics are greatly offset from the bottom. No chips or cracks. Does have light fading on one side. May need cleaned. Measures 9 1/2" tall.
