This tall round pyro quart example is in mint condition, and is as nice as I have seen. This bottle looks like it was never used, and all of the red acl pyro is immaculate. Bottle has seen no wear, what so ever, and the glass is super clean. This dairy served both San Gabriel and Puente (now La Puente), in Los Angeles County. *It reads (advertises) on the bottle in a shield ~ "GRUETER'S / SWISS DAIRY / SAN GABRIEL - PUENTE". Very nice with the poinsettia flower on the bottle. On the reverse it shows the old deco style dairy building, with the thick glass block windows. It also reads in the red pyro ~ "WELCOME ~ to the / (Grueter's on building image) / Home Of Better Milk". On the base it is embossed ~ "23 1 / Duraglass". Bottle was made at the Los Angeles Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in 1941. This handsome milk bottle from the west measures 9 5/8 inches tall, and 3 3/4 inches in diameter. I pleased a loose white sheet of paper in the bottle, to better highlight the red acl pyro.
