Rare Mint 1943 KATAHDIN CREAMERY Half-pint bottle w/Blue-Pyro from Caribou Maine
CollectionHero
I have to wonder if this bottle was ever used because It does not appear to show any evidence of use. The Blue Pyro-glazing is crisp and fully intact. Unlike their other bottles showing they're from either 'Caribou and Fort Fairfield' or 'Caribou and Patten', This bottle shows only from 'Caribou, Maine'.

CARIBOU, ME Maine Milk Bottle 1943
CollectionHero
eBay Up for grabs is THE RARE 1943 BLUE PYRO half pint milk bottle from Aroostook County - "KATAHDIN CREAMERY," CARIBOU, ME. Seeing this bottle compares as one of those "Holy Grail" moments in Maine Dairy collecting. What makes it so rare is that they were only produced for such a short time and it only lists one town. Normally they came mentioning two producing towns and ranged in three different colored pyros. The bottle itself is in near excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, pot marks or fish eyes. The pyro too is exceptional. Please preview all the photos, in each of their variations, capturing every light and angle as to help you make the most informed decision before buying. Also check my other listings for more harder to find Maine Milk Bottles & Milk Caps. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

RARE 1943
CollectionHero
Very RARE 1943 "KATAHDIN CREAMERY" of Caribou, Maine Half-Pint milk bottle with Blue Pyro-glazing in near perfect condition. This crystal clear bottle is 5-3/8inches tall and looks unused. The rim mouth front back and bottom ridge are all in pristine condition with the only exception being the underneath of the bottle. You can see a line (approx 1-inch) on the underneath in some of the pictures of the front & back and the last 2-pictures (pictures 23 & 24) are focused on that area. The line may be a crack but the glass feels smooth to the touch and the line extends across the mold circle and then disappears. Unlike other bottles showing "Caribou and Fort Fairfield" or "Caribou and Patten", this bottle shows only "Caribou, Maine". A little history: Katahdin Creamery operated from 1934 until it was sold to Guimond Farms of Caribou in 1962. However, the Caribou Katahdin Creamery processing plant was sold to Grants Dairy of Bangor, Maine in 1949. >This bottle has the embossed words "MAINE SEAL" around the number "1" on the upper part of the shoulder with the words "HALF PINT LIQUID" below it on the front of the bottle only.>Both the front and back of the bottle are identical with blue pyro-glazing that is both crisp and fully intact.> Along the bottom ridge of the front-side is embossed the words "REGISTERED 8A11">On the underneath is embossed with ".43." and "mTc"I want to thank you for looking and if you have any questions, please contact me via eBay and I'll reply promptly. RARE Near Pristine 1942 1-Pint
CollectionHero
Extremely RARE Near Pristine 1942 1-Pint "BLACKSTONE'S DAIRY" 7.25inch crystal clear milk bottle of Caribou, Maine. Blackstone's Dairy was founded by Fred J. Blackstone about 1925 and delivered milk to just Caribou, Maine until 1931. Often delivering milk by sleigh in the winter or in his open Dodge Touring car when possible. They eventually expanded deliveries to Madawaska, Cross and Long Lakes, and started delivering to the Officers Mess at the Presque Isle Air Base in 1939. The Dairy was sold to Katahdin Creamery of Patten, Maine in 1942. This bottle represents the LAST year Blackstones's Dairy existed. This crystal clear bottle is in "like new" condition including some original factory bubbles inside the glass and wavy seams with no visible evidence of use. There are no cracks chips scratches or even visible scuff marks, and I would've listed this bottle as Pristine except for 2 tiny impressions on the brim that are only visible if looked at very closely and at a certain angle, which is what was needed to get a picture (picture-16) of them. If you look at the reddish tint area of the brim in picture-16, you'll see what I mean. The impressions are not able to be seen in any of the other pictures and are unnoticeable even if holding the bottle so it probably could be considered Pristine. The pictures show that the pyroglazing looks great (front & back), bright and fully intact. The base and underneath area also looks perfect and shows no evidence of use.All the embossing is only on the front of the bottle >On the FRONT of the bottle is embossed on the neck area the words "MAINE SEAL" surrounding the number "1", and "ONE PINT LIQUID" on the shoulder area, and "51 REGISTERED A11" on bottom ridge area. >On the BACK of the bottle there is no embossing at all. >On the UNDERNEATH is embossed "mTc" and ".42." . Please look closely at all the pictures and if you have any questions, please contact me via eBay and I'll promptly reply. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Katahdin Creamery milk bottle quart Patten Caribou Maine Me red acl rare find
CollectionHero
This is a older quart milk bottle with a scene of Mount Katahdin. It is in great shape with no issues that I can see. I purchased a lot of milk bottles and will be listing one or two every day for a couple weeks. I love this stubby type of milk bottle. Unusual. I have another Katahdin without acl I will get listed. I sold a half pint Katahdin too but I have more Maine half pints. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Near-Pristine 5.25
CollectionHero
eBay Rare near-pristine pre-1940 5.25inch 1/2-Pint milk bottle from "BLACKSTONE'S DAIRY" of Caribou, Maine. I dated this bottle pre-1940 because I've had and seen Blackstone's Dairy bottles marked 1940 but none 1939 or older. This crystal clear bottle is in "like new" condition. However, there are 2 reasons why I listed it as near-pristine. The letter "A" of the word "CARIBOU" looks a little faded on the lower half of the letter which can be seen in the 1'st picture. The second reason is if you zoom-in on the last picture (picture-24, the underneath), you can see a trace of wear on the base where the bottle sits. Other than the two reasons, the rest of the bottle looks perfect as there are no cracks chips scratches or even visible scuff marks and the rest of the pyroglazing looks great, bright and fully intact. >On the FRONT of the bottle is embossed the words "MAINE SEAL 1" (and a blank circle on the back of this bottle), and "HALF PINT LIQUID", and "MTC REGISTERED 1 DA 11" on bottom ridge. >On the BACK of the bottle there is no embossing at all, only the blank circle on the neck area. >The only thing UNDERNEATH is embossed "N2". Please look closely at all the pictures and if you have any questions, please contact me via eBay and I'll promptly reply. (Condition: Pre-Owned)

Katahdin Creamery Caribou & Fort Fairfield Maine Me half pint green acl
CollectionHero
Cute half pint Pasturized milk. I have not seen this one on ebay and think it is fairly unique. I have another Katahdin Creamery that I will list either this evening or tomorrow. That one in the picture has red text as shown. I have a few more that I will try to list also. Another Katahdin quart with the paint not showing but the etching is. I purchased a lot with fruit jars and milks that I'll get out there soon. Aroostock milks, Grants, Walkers, etc...This listing is for one half pint Katahdin Creamery bottle. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
